Rasor Law Firm Represents Waitress in Sexual Harassment Claims against Brutus Camp Deli

AS SEEN IN:

Royal Oak, MI – Rasor Law Firm represents a client in a sexual harassment lawsuit against Brutus Camp Deli located in Emmet County, Michigan. The lawsuit alleges severe and pervasive sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and constructive discharge arising from the client’s employment at the restaurant from May through August 2025.
Our client worked as a waitress, host, and prep cook at Brutus Camp Deli. She was subjected to severe and pervasive sexual harassment in the presence of and by multiple employees. She was repeatedly called explicit and vulgar sexual names such as “wh∗re,” “c∗nt,” “sl∗t,” and “d∗ke” on a daily basis. Vulgar sexual comments about our client were also made regarding wanting to engage in sexual acts with female coworkers and degrading remarks suggesting she would trade sexual favors for rides.
Our client made repeated complaints to management and ownership, and she and her concerns were dismissed each time. They refused to address the issues and made no efforts to stop or mitigate the sexual harassment and constant sexual comments present and pervasive in the workplace.
The workplace became so toxic that even the manager participated in inappropriate sexual banter, with employees writing vulgar sexual comments on a whiteboard in the restaurant including “Judy likes Big Black D*ck” and the manager responding in kind with sexual comments of their own. This toxic environment and the harassment our client constantly endured did not stop and it created a sexually hostile work environment so severe that she was forced to resign her position to escape.
“The harassment was daily – I couldn’t take it anymore,” our client stated. “When management not only failed to stop it but participated in it themselves, I had no choice but to leave.”
Rasor Law is preparing to file suit against the and is pursuing claims under Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (ELCRA) and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for sexual harassment, hostile work environment, and constructive discharge. Recent Michigan jury verdicts in similar sexual harassment cases have resulted in substantial awards, particularly where employers fail to take corrective action after receiving complaints of harassment.
The firm is committed to holding all responsible parties accountable for this unconscionable sexual harassment against women in the workplace.
